About Us

GYAC is a group of students ages 14-21 from across Nebraska who watch legislation affecting youth. We meet four times a year, two of those times with the Governor, to talk about bills affecting the youth of NE. We take an active approach to the legislative process by discussing selected bills, presenting our stance (for or against) to the Governor, and meeting with our own Senators to learn more about ways we can affect the fate of that legislation. Be it testifying in committee hearings or meeting with Senators one-on-one, members of GYAC care what's going on in the state legislature and want to do something about it.
